OUR COMMITMENT
Privacy is part of how we earn your trust.
Key Choice Lending is committed to protecting your privacy under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and applicable credit-reporting laws.
Key Choice Lending is the mortgage and finance broking business operated by Key Choice Group Pty Ltd. We provide credit assistance by helping clients understand, compare and apply for credit products offered by third-party lenders and credit providers. Key Choice Lending is not a credit provider and does not lend money itself. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information in connection with our services and our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Key Choice Group Pty Ltd also operates 80 Metrics Property Advisory, its property advisory and advocacy business, which has its own privacy policy. Although both businesses are operated by the same legal entity, we treat information collected through Key Choice Lending as being collected for Key Choice Lending purposes. We will not use that information to provide or market 80 Metrics services unless you ask us to, agree to an introduction, or the use is otherwise authorised or required by law. Because both businesses are operated by Key Choice Group Pty Ltd, the company may benefit if you choose to engage 80 Metrics. We will make this clear before any introduction.

Technology and AI tools. We use business versions of AI tools to assist with analysis and preparation of drafts. Where client information is processed using these tools, we use business arrangements and privacy settings designed to prevent that information being used to train publicly available models. A member of our team reviews the resulting work. Recommendations about credit products are made by our team, not by automated systems, and lenders make their own credit decisions. We do not use computer programs to make decisions about you that significantly affect your rights or interests.
How do we protect your information?
We may store personal information in secure client-management, cloud-storage, communication and document-management systems, as well as physical records where necessary.
If a data breach occurs, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required.
Overseas recipients
Some of our service providers and contractors access, process or store personal information outside Australia. Based on our current arrangements, this includes the United States (email and document storage, video meetings, scheduling, email marketing and AI tools), the Philippines (lending support, design and administrative support) and Indonesia (website development and maintenance). Our website and our client management platform, Mercury, are hosted in Australia.
Where personal information is disclosed to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps required by applicable privacy law in relation to the handling of that information.
We will update this Privacy Policy if our overseas information-handling arrangements materially change.
Website information and cookies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate, remember preferences and understand how the website is used.
This may include your IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit. Some embedded tools, such as our booking calendar and online forms, may set their own cookies.
You can usually restrict cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may affect some website functions.
Direct marketing
Where you have consented, or where we are otherwise permitted by law, we may send you relevant service updates, articles, events or offers. Our marketing communications will identify Key Choice Lending and include a way to unsubscribe. We do not use 80 Metrics client information for Key Choice Lending marketing. Making an enquiry, requesting assistance or booking a meeting does not, by itself, subscribe you to marketing communications.
You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe facility in the communication or by contacting us using the details in this policy. Where required by law and practicable, you may also ask us to tell you the source of the personal information we have used for direct marketing.
We will not use sensitive information for direct marketing without your consent.
How long do we keep your information?
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services and meet our legal, regulatory, professional and record-keeping obligations. When personal information is no longer required to be retained, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify it.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you or request a correction if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
Where appropriate, we will correct, amend or delete personal information that we agree is inaccurate, subject to our legal and regulatory record-retention obligations.
We may need to verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond within 30 days.
We do not charge for making an access or correction request, although reasonable administrative costs may apply when providing access. We will tell you about any charge before proceeding.
In limited circumstances, we may be permitted or required to refuse access or correction. If this happens, we will explain why in writing, unless it would be unreasonable to do so, and outline your complaint options.
When we need your consent
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information. Where we are required to obtain your consent to collect, use or disclose particular information, we will seek that consent at the appropriate time.
Depending on the services you request, this may include consent relating to information provided to lenders, finance applications, credit enquiries, third-party service providers, electronic communications or direct marketing.
Where permitted by law, you may withdraw a consent you have given by contacting us, although withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide certain services.
